California Pizza Kitchen Margherita

I’ve had some excellent Margherita pizzas before, but getting a frozen one for $6 just doesn’t quite work out as well. There’s so little to the ingredients on a Margherita that it’s quite hard to make a really good one. This one’s not bad, but it’s not all that great either. I’d greatly prefer one of the other California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizzas.

Tombstone Pepperoni & Sausage

I’m not sure about this one. It takes a while to bake at 19-21 minutes, the crust is very dry, and the sauce tastes quite cheap, but it’s fairly decent for the price I suppose. I may try baking it again on a pan instead of directly on the rack like it suggested to see if I can get a softer crust.

Red Baron Classic Crust Pepperoni

It had been a while since I’d tried the Red Baron Classic Crust, so I decided to bake one. I ran into the same issue I’ve often had, where the crust doesn’t bake quite as quickly as the ingredients. I baked it on a pan, rather than on the rack as the directions recommend, but didn’t expect it to go as poorly as it did. The crust was still very doughy on the bottom when it was baked just about right on the top.

I’d recommend actually baking the Classic Crust pizzas right on the rack to avoid that issue, as it’s one I’ve run in to quite a lot. When it’s baked right, it’s a really good pizza. Baked wrong, it’s terrible.

California Pizza Kitchen – Sicilian Recipe

When you’re in the mood for a good thin crust frozen pizza, you can’t go wrong with California Pizza Kitchen. I think their Signature Pepperoni is my favorite, but the Sicilian Recipe is really good.

The spicy ham and salami with mozzarella and Fontina cheese is a delicious combination with just the right amount of spice. The crust is simple but excellent, and hard to bake wrong. Overall a great pizza.

Red Baron French Bread Singles

French bread, but also a pizza. They’re pretty good!ย These are somewhat interesting to cook. You’re supposed to microwave them for 2ย minutes before putting them in the oven for anotherย 8, but it seemed to work fine.

Iย definitely prefer a regular pizza crust, but when you want something a bit different, but still want pizza, these aren’t a bad option.

DiGiorno Three Meat Stuffed Crust

DiGiorno really tries. They have a stuffed crust frozen pizza, which is awesome! I just don’t really like it.ย It’s possible I’ve never cooked it quite right, but I’ve never had the crust set up quite right. The amount of cheese in the crust is also quite disappointing if you’re used to Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust pizza, which is basically the best thing in the universe.

Overall it’s not a bad pizza, but it’s not worth the price when you can get a Pizza Hut stuffed crust pizza for only a couple dollars more.

DiGiorno Thin Crispy Crust

DiGiorno makes decent frozen pizzas. This isnโ€™t one of them. Itโ€™s quite expensive for only being about 7×7โ€ square. The crust, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni all taste very cheap. Not a great pizza. I do think I baked this one wrong, so I will try it again some time, but I wasn’t impressed.

Also I wouldn’t even consider this a “thin” crust. It’s one of the thickest pizzas I’ve had in a while.
