Papa John’s Stuffed Crust Pepperoni

I quite like Papa John’s in general, but I’ve never been a fan of their crust. With Pizza Hut, I pretty much exclusively eat their stuffed crust, it’s really their only pizza that’s worth buying to me, so having a new stuffed crust option is always awesome!

This is a good pizza. It’s a bit simpler than the Pizza Hut stuffed crust, missing their crust flavoring and such, but it’s really good. This one in particular has a lot of cheese on it, and while that’s not particularly healthy, I really enjoyed it. I also got the cheese sticks, which I always do when buying from Papa John’s, but they don’t feel quite as necessary with a pizza this good.

The biggest thing I’ll need to try is re-heating the leftover pizza tomorrow. Papa John’s typically doesn’t hold up very well after a day or two, so I’ll try to update with how that goes. Pizza Hut’s stuffed crust reheats really well, so I could see this one being similarly good.

Overall, I highly recommend this one. If you love cheese, you will love this pizza.

Digiorno Croissant Crust Pepperoni

This is a bit of an interesting one. I don’t generally like Digiorno, but that’s usually because I don’t like their crusts. With this one though, the crust is very different from a typical frozen pizza, being fairly croissant-like.

If you do try one of these, they recommend baking it directly on an oven rack, but I do recommend being cautious as mine ended up dropping a lot of cheese that burned, affecting the overall flavor a bit. I thought I’d cleared the edges well enough but some still fell from where I held the pizza when putting it in the oven.

It’s not bad! The unique crust is a pretty noticeable difference, making this much better than a typical Digiorno pizza to me. The cheese, sauce, and pepperoni are all fairly typical, but with the weird crust, it works quite well all together. I’d recommend it if you want to try something a bit different, though I’ll stick with my Red Baron Brick Oven crust for my larger frozen pizza needs.

Red Baron Deep Dish Singles – Supreme

Similar to the rather good Great Value Mini Deep Dish, this is a mini deep-dish pizza that’s really good too! I very slightly burned this one, but it’s still great. They have a noticeably higher quality taste compared to the Great Value mini pizzas, and I really like them!

I don’t typically choose these over the Great Value option as they are more expensive per pizza (and only come in 2-packs instead of the 4-packs that the Great Value ones come in), but they are a bit better. My main reason to pick them is if the GV ones are out of stock, which is happening a lot lately for whatever reason.

Domino’s Pepperoni and Pineapple

For most of my life, I’ve been a no-pineapple pizza eater. I’m willing to experiment a bit with toppings, but pineapple had always seemed wrong since I first tried it on a Hawaiian pizza from Little Caesar’s many years ago.

But then I tried a Domino’s Pan Crust pizza with pepperoni and pineapple. It’s so good. This is the pizza that got me to love pineapple.

Domino’s is pretty consistently good these days, and this pizza tonight is no exception. Both the pan crust and the hand-tossed pizzas are great. I’ve been typically getting one pan crust and one hand-tossed with their $5.99 deal for two or more medium pizzas, mixing up the toppings on the hand-tossed but keeping pepperoni and pineapple on the pan crust.

This time I got the same toppings on both crusts, and they’re both great. I do think the pineapple’s sweetness works really well with the thicker pan crust, but it’s really good on the hand-tossed as well. I highly recommend you try this pizza!

Strap Tank Brewery – Pepperoni

Strap Tank is a local restaurant and brewery in Utah that has a decent selection of good food. This is a pizza blog though, so we got the pizza!

This $13 pizza is fairly large, with a good thin crust. It’s fairly average in flavor, topping amount, and general quality, with nothing in particular standing out. It somewhat reminds me of the Chuck E. Cheese’s pizza I had a few years ago, but a bit thinner and much bigger/greasier. Overall not at all a bad value, but nothing really notable.

I also got their locally-crafted root beer to go with it, and it’s really good! It’s not quite as good as the Blue Sky root beer I often get at MOD Pizza, but it’s still great. I don’t know that I’ll order this pizza again, though I may try their Supreme at some point for something with a bit more flavor, and I’ll likely try some of their non-pizza foods too.

Great Value Mini Pizza Bagels

I found another frozen pizza thing I hadn’t tried!

These are pretty tiny, and definitely cheaply made, but as far as cheap frozen pizza goes, they’re not too bad. The bagel crust is an interesting difference from other pizzas, with a noticeably more prominent flavor. The cheese and sauce are very plain tasting, but along with the bagel part this is overall a pretty decent pizza.

If you’re just looking for small, cheap pizza, I’d still recommend Great Value’s Mini Pan Crust Pizza or a Totino’s Party Pizza over this, but they’re not a terrible option like most other very cheap pizzas are.

I’ve discovered a new frozen pizza! It’s been a while since I’ve seen a brand I haven’t tried. This one doesn’t look great, but we’ve got to try it because… reasons.

The pinnacle of pizza, obviously.

It’s bad. The crust is terrible, the pepperoni is really bad, and the overall flavor is just terrible. It sort of reminds me of a worse version of the Great Value take-and-bake that was also painfully bad, or maybe a more painful derivative of one of Costco’s frozen brands. Just bad.

0/10 would not recommend.

MOD Pizza – Dillon James

Usually when I eat at MOD Pizza, I get something fairly meat heavy, but this time I wanted something a little different. The Dillon James is basically a Margherita, with a variety of cheeses and some tomato slices. I added some red onions for a bit more flavor, and it was fantastic. This might be my new favorite thing at MOD.

Great Value Mini Deep Dish

At this point it’s quite rare to see a frozen pizza I haven’t covered on this blog before. This is one of them! It comes in a variety of choices, including pepperoni, three-meat, and supreme. I got the supreme, and it’s really good!

It’s $4 for 4 small ~4″ pizzas, which isn’t as good of a deal as a Totinos’ Party Pizza, but for something a bit more interesting it’s not a bad deal either. I’d definitely recommend them if you want an alternative to the Red Baron mini deep dish pizzas… I’d maybe even say I prefer these ones.

Totino’s Classic Pepperoni

This one actually has proper full slices of pepperoni! That’s it. It’s just a regular ol’ Totino’s but with normal pepperoni. I didn’t know they had this, but I also prefer their pizzas that have more toppings, so I likely won’t buy it very often.

The pepperoni is super thin, and is honestly barely even noticeable when you’re eating it. It almost tastes like a straight cheese pizza, which is fine I guess. I highly recommend just getting their supreme or three-meat instead.
